Life of Mine Management program to deliver knowledge and networking in Zambia

The IM4DC has taken its popular Life of Mine Management program to Lusaka, Zambia in November, focusing on Management of Large Volume Waste Facilities in Mining.

The course is held in partnership with The University of Zambia and Copperbelt University, directly ahead of The University of Zambia’s Mining Seminar on 22 November 2012.

The aim of this short course is to provide an understanding of design, management and monitoring principles for large volume waste facilities associated with mining operations, across the full life cycle of a mine.

This topic is a critical element in both minimising long term environmental risks and liabilities which can arise from poor management of such facilities, and also maximising opportunities for post-mining land use.

Participants will include academic and government stakeholders from Zambia and other African countries.
