EnglishProfessor Jeffrey Sachs, of Columbia University and Ian Satchwell, IM4DC Director, met recently in Perth to discuss mining and development, the work of IM4DC and collaborations with the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI).
Professor Sachs chairs the CCSI, which is a global center with eleven full-time staff operating on three continents including Australia, student interns, and a network of professional advisors and affiliates.
Columbia Center and IM4DC have several activities across negotiation capacity-building, infrastructure planning and delivery and executive education.

Ian Satchwell briefed Professor Sachs on the operations and achievements of IM4DC to date, including how recent research has identified positive impacts on developing country institutions from the education, training and capacity-building activities.
